Autumn has arrived on Lake Norman! Breathtaking foliage is leisurely painting the landscape and officially marking the beginning of infinite holiday season activities.
What better way to celebrate the importance of community than by participating in the annual Lake Norman Turkey Trot? Intentionally designed to celebrate the holiday spirit, as well as give back to the community, this family-friendly event provides all the necessary components essential to letting loose, prioritizing a healthy lifestyle, and creating lasting memories.
The Lake Norman Turkey Trot in Cornelius, NC, is set for Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024. This event offers a range of races: a half marathon, 10K, 5K, and a virtual run option. The races start at Life Fellowship Church, with staggered start times beginning at 7:45 a.m. for the half marathon, followed by the 10K at 7:50 a.m., and the 5K at 7:55 a.m. Participants will enjoy scenic routes around Lake Norman, making it a great outdoor experience for families and individuals of all fitness levels.
The Turkey Trot is more than just a race, with proceeds benefiting local charities, including Human Health Project, which supports food banks in the area. Awards will be given for top finishers in each race, and race swag includes a finisher’s medal, T-shirt, cup, and beanie for those registered by early November.
